BBQ for the weekend
Labor Day Weekend
Labor Day weekend is a national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. This Labor Day we are thrilled to announce that through our Special Projects Division we have given 900lbs of BBQ to front line workers in the city of Dallas in the last 6 months. To mark this great weekend, we will be feeding teachers with 200lbs of our Smokedmaple ribs. And so as Labor Day approaches we want to say THANK YOU - this has and is only possible because of your continued support. Happy Labor Day!
Operation BBQ - deployed to Lake Charles
“Barbecue is comfort food, and we are proud to bring some comfort to the people affected by Hurricane Laura and give them one less thing to worry about as they work to put their lives back together,” said Stan Hays, OBR CEO http://obr.org
Operation BBQ Relief was founded in May 2011 in response to a need for relief efforts in tornado-stricken Joplin, Missouri, a community of about 50,000 residents. Volunteers from competition BBQ teams from eight states answered the need to help feed displaced families, police, fire, National Guard and emergency personnel.
They were able to serve over 120,000 meals over 13 days. Food was delivered to shelters, hospitals, senior living communities and the Humane Society. Volunteers loaded food into vehicles and delivered directly to families in the impacted areas. The operation was made possible by all who contributed food and supplies and funding from across the country.
